Important Notes
- Peak season (November-April) requires advance booking of track permits and hut beds
- Tasmanian weather is changeable; snow is possible even in summer
- Some sections are boardwalk - slippery when wet
- Cold-weather and waterproof gear is essential (year-round)
- Off-season (May-September) has frequent extreme weather; experienced hikers only
Getting There
Fly to Hobart or Launceston, Tasmania. Bus to Cradle Mountain trailhead.
Supplies & Accommodation
Supplies: Huts along the route provide basic facilities but no food service. Carry your own food and stove (gas cooktops available in huts).
Accommodation: National Park huts along the route (advance booking required). Designated camping areas also available.
