Jingxi Ancient Trail
BeginnerChina · Beijing
The Jingxi Ancient Trail was the Yuan-Ming-Qing Dynasty trade route from Beijing to Shanxi and Inner Mongolia. The Mentougou section is the best preserved, with deep horseshoe prints worn into stone slabs by centuries of mule caravans. Ancient villages, stone bridges, and passes dot the route — walking through the echoes of a bygone era.
